# LED Hazardous Location Fixtures

Hazardous location lighting is classified by the type of hazardous environment where the lighting system will be installed. These environments are defined by the National Electrical Code (NEC). The categories below represent the first two levels of the NEC classification system. Additional "groups" and "zones" found in the individual product specifications further define the type of approved location for the fixture.

All light fixtures approved for installation in any NEC classified hazardous environment must meet and display UL844 on the fixture label. UL844 is the only standard for hazardous location lighting.
