Blacklight Bulbs

Blacklight bulbs produce ultraviolet radiation in the UVA range 315 to 400 nanometers (nm). These wavelengths are not visible to humans. However, blacklights also produce some visible wavelengths along with the UVA. Some blacklight bulbs incorporate a deep blue filter that blocks most of the visible light. These bulbs are known as "blacklight blue" or BLB. For special effects and stage/studio blacklight applications, BLB type bulbs are preferred because most of the distracting visible light is elminated. The bulbs below are all BLB type blacklights. For other applications it is useful to have another type of blacklight, called "BL". These bulbs do not block visible light. See Topbulb's selection of BL type blacklights used for testing and inspection.
